Welcome to registration for the 9th annual Drive for Thrive Golf Tournament, taking place on May 27th, 2024 at Silver Springs Golf Course. This annual event serves as a powerful platform to raise both funds and awareness for the Thrive Centre and its impactful exercise and cancer programs, which span across Canada.

Since our inaugural tournament in 2015, we have successfully raised over $500,000 to support the Thrive Centre operations, including donations from Birchcliff Energy and the Dyck Family to support our continued exercise oncology program implementation work. This support has allowed us to train  graduate and undergraduate student volunteers for the Thrive Centre and serve thousands of individuals living with and beyond cancer across Calgary, Alberta, and Canada. None of this would have been possible without the support and unwavering commitment of our community sponsors, donors, and volunteers.

All funds raised at this year’s event will support further tailoring of our community-based exercise oncology programs to reach and better support individuals living with and beyond cancer. This includes tailoring our Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE) and Exercise for Cancer to Enhance Living well (EXCEL) studies to include resources in French, Punjabi, and for young adults, as well as specific programs for stem cell transplant and neuro-oncology patients. The impact of exercise is clear, resulting in improved physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. While we continue to advocate for our healthcare systems to support exercise as part of supportive cancer care, funds raised at Drive for Thrive ensure we can continue to make exercise programs available.

Registration Information:

The 2024 registration fee is the same as 2023 – $225 + GST, which covers green fees, cart rental, and dinner (accommodation available for dietary restrictions). There is also the opportunity to purchase your lunch for an additional fee, as well as mulligans during this online registration process (vs at check-in on the event day). Thanks for helping us to streamline our check-in process!

Registration fees do NOT provide any funding or donations to the Thrive Centre or any of its programs. Therefore, if you want to contribute to the impact the Thrive Centre has in providing exercise for all people living with cancer, please consider donating at the link you’ll find during the registration process.
